Mauro Godoy-Villalobos

Born in Santiago de Chile in 1967, he arrived to Sweden at the age of eight. Mauro is now an active composer based in Stockholm.
He studied in Italy with maestro Aldo Minella at the conservatory Civica scuola di musica in Milan. In Sweden Mauro continued to study composition with Johan Hammerth, Henrik Strindberg and Per Mårtensson. He has also received lessons from visiting guest professor Sven-David Sandström.
Mauro has written music for a large variety of ensembles and has been interpreted by soloist as well as orchestras.
He has been awarded multiple scholarships and have won several international composition competitions. Among others: conDiT Buenos Aires 2014, CGSV's Homage to Villa-Lobos composition competition Melbourne 2014 and Claxica composition competition Italy 2015.
